I was born in Lanark, Scotland, and now reside in Biggar, Lanarkshire, with my husband Mark and my son Lucas.
Graphic Artist at Macvie Advertising Agency Ltd. Glasgow, where I incorporated my own illustration, photography and design into the workload for print and press.
1994 - Present
Decorartist (self employed), my aim is to give clients a unique and affordable alternative to traditional decorating in the form of paint effects, murals and paintings. I usually produce artwork according to specification so it can vary from furniture decoration projects (wood-graining effects i.e Kew Palace Royal Opening 2006), to large assignments such as applying the stencil design onto the safety curtain in the London Coliseum Opera House (major refurbishment 2004).
At the moment I enjoy painting landscapes from both the vast flatness of North Yorkshire (where we lived for six years), to the hills and valleys of Scotland. Given my commercial background (where spontaneity and speed are ingrained) my favourite medium to work with is versatile and fast drying acrylics. This allows me to work swiftly as I prefer to capture the mood before detail in my paintings.Galleries Exhibiting my workfrom 2006 Image Design, Harrogate North Yorkshirefrom 2009 Art Exposure Gallery, Parnie Street, Glasgowfrom 2010 Present: scotlandart.com galleries, Glasgow
