Artist Matthew Thompson

‘I am a visual artist based in Manchester. I am mainly interested in the urban environment, the North of England, though I don't limit myself solely to this subject.

 

I paint my experience honestly and unpretentiously, sometimes taking a romantic view of city life and at others portraying the melancholy and isolation of the city, or even documenting the ever changing skyline.

Primarily I work in the media of paint, charcoal and pastels. All pieces are on paper, unless stated otherwise.’
