My work is inspired by the stunning scenery of the east coast of Scotland and the islands on the west coast. The light in Scotland can be dramatic, spectacular and truly inspiring. This is what I try to capture in my work by creating strong contrast in each painting. My palette is fairly realistic with small areas of strong colour which helps the eye to travel around the painting. I work with acrylic on canvas and the paint is rich in colour allowing for a finely painted but vibrant image.
