Sheila Hardy was born in a small seaside village in Galloway, Scotland. From a young age, she had freedom to roam the beaches and hills surrounding her home, and a passion for drawing and painting the natural beauty around her. She now lives in the picturesque Jed valley, working as full-time artist except when teaching or running workshops. Returning to rural Scotland after a long absence has fueled her passion for capturing the exquisite natural beauty to be found in the Scottish Borders: the changing seasons, the colours of the landscape, natural forms, the light, the mood and memory provide endless inspiration.
