Collection: Zita Abreu

Zita Abreu is a contemporary British artist making bronze sculptures. Her sculptures can be found in galleries and private collections around the world. She lives for part of the year in the south of Spain and has a family connection to Scotland which she visits regularly. She loves to travel which gives her the opportunity to observe and photograph wildlife. She has spent time in South America, Asia and Europe which has provided inspiration for sculptures. Zita has always been interested in art although she has a scientific background. A biomedical science degree gave her the opportunity to study anatomy and physiology which has enabled her to focus on movement and anatomical correctness in her sculptures. She also works in a more abstract style and she likes to use colour and texture to put life into her sculptures. Zita makes her sculptures in clay and then prepares moulds which are taken to the foundry and cast into bronze. Her sculptures are limited editions of 12.
