Emmanuelle Capatos

On June 23rd 2020 at 1.42am, amidst her Bachelor of Arts studies in Theatre and French, Emmanuelle Capatos (b. 2000) had the profound revelation to undertake traditional oil painting as a calling. Since that moment, she has redirected every choice to pursue this new vocation, and, in June of 2024, graduated from her atelier training at The Glasgow Academy of Fine Art. She additionally worked and taught there as assistant teacher, studio manager, and finally Anatomy Instructor.
Material realism is only a tool, and one that becomes ineffective unless it serves a greater spiritual realism. Her focus for the next years of exploration is to further develop a painting philosophy that combines a deep sensitivity to the nature of humanity, and the symbolic language and narrative that has been with us since the ancient cultures of Egypt, Greece, Mesopotamia.
Through this combination, she hopes to spend her life revealing through art, the light and beauty that sits so abundantly around us.
