Ruth Gillbanks

Ruth Gillbanks is an abstract expressionist landscape artist based on the edge of the Mendip Hills in Somerset. Drawing on an immediate, emotional reaction to the rural landscapes around her, Gillbanks' painting style can be seen as a way of expressing a love for the natural scenery of the UK. Works of hers include the lively 'Remembering Skye' and the colourful 'Autumn Sea'. We are delighted to offer free worldwide delivery on all of her paintings.

From the Artist
"Having trained as a three dimensional artist, with a BA(Hons) in ceramics from Bristol, my passion for painting has been nurtured through my teaching career. For the past 25 years I have taught fine art and I am currently Head of Faculty for the Visual Arts in a large secondary school in Bristol (PCGE). With lower school teaching I really have become a very well rounded artist with interests across all fine art disciplines but my desire to paint really took off within my teaching of A-Level Fine Art, where I enjoy helping students work on larger scale canvas"

It is now time to focus more on my own work and I have enjoyed exhibiting my work in galleries this last year.
