Sarah Ross-Thompson
Born in London and raised in Norfolk, collagraph artist Sarah Ross-Thompson now calls the coasts of Dumfries and Galloway her home. An academic child, Ross-Thompson came to art as a profession later in life, after completing a degree English and Classics and starting a family. Encouraged by a life class tutor and financed by the proceeds from her first solo show, she bought an etching press and began to experiment with the printmaking technique of collagraphy. Printing with found objects, from oats to scraps of fabric, she weaves a variety of textures and colours into her works to capture the coasts and landscapes of Galloway and further afield.
