Shamil Ramazanov
Ramazanov was born in 1988, in Izberbash, Republic of Dagestan (Russia) located on the coast of the Caspian Sea.
In 2002 after studying for two years to be an accountant it became abundantly that numbers were not for him.
In 2005 Ramazanov entered the Dagestan Pedagogical University, at the art-graphic faculty and since 2007 has been an active part in all exhibitions held in of the Republic of Dagestan (Russia).
2008 became an important year for Ramazanov as he began being taught by renowned artist Khasbulat Yusupov (b. 1952) in Dagestan.
“At that time, I painted a lot of watercolours, I've learned the unique "wet" technique from the great watercolourist Khasbulat Yusupov.”
It was then that the door to the wonderful world of painting was opened to him, and he entered without looking back.
“In the same year, I met another great artist Darwin Velibekov, who lived in Baku and my signature style was born, thick texture, small brushstrokes and all painted ‘en plein air’. I was truly inspired by the Expressionism style”.
Shamil Ramazanov successfully graduated university in 2010 with a series of landscapes. He moved from Dagestan to Moscow and joined the Moscow Union of Artists.
Since 2017 he has been living and painting in Glasgow, Scotland where he now shows exclusively with the ScotlandArt.com Gallery.
