Eve McGlynn
Eve McGlynn was born in 1998 in Paisley. Having studied in Fine Art in Dundee, she went on to be Leith School of Art’s artist in residence. From there she was awarded the RSA John Kinross scholarship to study art in Florence, where she honed her practice to focus on pre-renaissance Italian art. She has exhibited her paintings up and down the country, with her work existing in public and private collections.
With a focus on iconography and symbolism, McGlynn has created a collection of paintings that depict the life of the Virgin Mary through adapting Giotto’s series of the same subject matter. With contemporary painting influences informing her style and aesthetics, McGlynn’s practice is a synthesis of contemporary abstract oil painting with a series of personal reflections upon depictions of the Virgin Mary.
